The Diabetes MILES – Youth study was conducted in 2014 by the ACBRD, led by Professor Speight.
The aim of MILES-Youth was to explore the well-being and quality of life of young people with diabetes (aged 10-19 years) and their parents, and to examine self-reported diabetes care and health outcomes.
A total of 781 young people with diabetes and 826 of their parents from across Australia took part in the survey.
A description of the study methods and top-line results are available in the free downloadable Diabetes MILES – Youth survey report. Study methods and results have also been published in conference presentations and journal articles.
Diabetes MILES Youth was funded by the National Diabetes Services Scheme (NDSS) as part of the Young People with Diabetes National Development Program.
